Ysgol y Creuddyn's School Council was founded in 2001. One representative from each form class is elected at the start of each year. Representatives attend monthly council meetings.
Aims:
To provide an opportunity for pupils to provide ideas and to give their opinion on developments within the school. To contribute towards the personal and social education of pupils, especially regarding citizenship.

Elliw Owen’s vision on behalf of the Prefects
It is a complete honor to represent Ysgol y Creuddyn as Head Pupil for the year 2025-2026. I am looking forward to continuing to work alongside all the teachers, staff and pupils of our school to ensure a safe and happy school for teaching and learning. It is very important to me that we hear the voice, ideas, opinions and feedback of all the people in our school to ensure that we can make the school the best for them. Following a series of meetings with the School Council to discuss our priorities for our school, we are able to make plans in order to develop our school further.
Welsh is the language of our school and it is a very important focal point for us. Everyone has the right to use the Welsh language here and it is our priority to ensure that everyone feels that Ysgol y Creuddyn is a safe place to have the opportunity to use and practice the Welsh language without judgement and criticism. This year, our golden priority is the Welsh language and we are working hard to complete the Silver Language Charter Award.
I am looking forward to supporting the important charity Children in Need again this year. We are in the process of planning events for the week of Children In Need Day to raise money.
This school year is very exciting!
School Council 2025-26
The Head shared the school's priorities for this academic year with the Council. Following that, each member of the Council shared with their registration class and discussed how the Council could contribute to the priorities.
The Council shared how they can contribute to the priorities. Here are some of the ideas shared:
- Celebrating the Champion of Welsh every half term based on the number of points gained on Class Charts
- The class with the highest number of attendance statistics to be rewarded as a class rather than as individuals.
- Is it possible to create lunchtime clubs or share a 'skill of the week' as part of the learner announcements.
